Oak Ridge tennis players advance to 2nd round of district tournament
Oak Ridge High School senior Jacob Proffitt exhibited resilience and exceptional tactics winning his first round singles match Thursday, May 2, after losing the first set 3-6 to Maryville’s Ephraim Dee. Jacob roared back taking the next two sets 6-3, 6-3 and the match to advance in TSSAA’s District 4-AA “Individual” Tournament.
Second round matches are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge's Jackson Square Tennis Facility. Our ORHS players were exceptional today! Joining Jacob in the second round tomorrow is the victorious doubles team of Aaliyah Herron and Ellie Nash, plus “singles” competitors Sydney Blanchard, Lily Shelton, and Billy Bennett.
