Notre Dame’s season opener against Navy in Ireland sold out

If you’ve been slacking on the opportunity to buy tickets for Notre Dame’s 2023 opener, you’re officially out of luck. It was announced the Irish’s game against Navy in Ireland has sold out. Of the 40,000 fans from all over the world expected to attend game, 39,000 are projected to be from the U.S. This would be a record for Americans traveling abroad for a one-day sporting event.

It’s great to see so much interest in this game but also not a surprise. For one, Notre Dame and Ireland just go together, and watching a longstanding rivalry like the one with Navy makes the opportunity even more appealing. What’s more, the Irish made some great strides last year by dominating Clemson and winning the Gator Bowl, so attendees figure to get a quality football team and not one merely associated with a long history.

The season continues to creep closer, and news like this shows people are eager for it to get started.
