Notre Dame pitcher Temple had himself a weekend, gets recognized

The Irish baseball team won another weekend series. Copy, paste, print. It’s been a reoccurring theme since Link Jarrett took over the program, and early this year it’s been three series played, and three series victories.

Two of those have been sweeps, this weekend being another one. The Sunday starter, Austin Temple made Minnesota miserable, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning while striking out a career-high 9 Gophers. For his efforts he was named the MVP of the Cambria College Classic, but the recognition didn’t stop there for Temple.

On Monday, Temple was named the ACC pitcher of the week for his gem this past Sunday.

The Irish ultimately won the game, 3-1, taking all three games against the Big Ten foes in the CCC.

With their three win, the Irish improved to 8-1 on the year and once again are looking like a team that has College World Series aspirations.
