Noah Syndergaard solid in debut, but Guardians fall to Astros
Noah Syndergaard took the mound as the first time in a Guardians uniform and turned in a positive outing, but the Cleveland bullpen faltered in a 7-3 loss to the Houston Astros Monday night.
Syndergaard, following the Amed Rosario trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowed one run on just two hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. He didn't strike out any hitters but was effective nonetheless.

Eli Morgan ran into trouble in the sixth, though. With a runner on, Morgan walked Alex Breman, which led to Yordan Alvarez. Morgan left a changeup over the middle of the plate, and Alvarez crushed it for a go-ahead three-run home run.
