Noah Grubbs recruiting: Lake Mary quarterback has 3 Florida schools in top 10 list

Lake Mary rising junior quarterback Noah Grubbs’ top 10 list has a strong Florida presence.

Florida, Miami and UCF all made the cut. The list, which was released Thursday afternoon, also includes Auburn, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Texas A&M.

“Making my top 10 was a tough decision because I have so many great schools that have offered me,” Grubbs said. “But these 10 are the schools that have been recruiting me the hardest and have all been in contact with my QB trainer Baylin Trujillo, so I know where I stand with my top 10 when it comes to me on their board.”

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander had a breakout season in 2023. Grubbs completed 208 of 354 passes (58.8 completion percentage) for 3,670 yards and 49 touchdown passes with just six interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns.

According to MaxPreps, Grubbs ranked fifth in the state in passing yards and second in touchdown passes.

In addition to rewriting Lake Mary’s record books last season, Grubbs helped the Rams reach the No. 1 spot in the USA Today Florida Network Class 4M poll. Lake Mary was the top overall seed in the class heading into the postseason but suffered a number of injuries in the opening round and fell to eventual state runner-up Mandarin in the regional semifinal.

Florida

“Florida was my childhood team growing up watching football, and I have friends who have played and still play there, so it’s great to have received an offer there. Coach O’Hara really values developing quarterbacks which I love and he was a former QB trainer. He and Baylin are great together and they share ideas about training which is very important to me. Coach Napier is the man and I love the vision he has for the program. I love that fact they have the hardest schedule which means he believes in his team and they will be the big game every week.”

Miami

“Miami and coach Shannon Dawson has been very consistent in my recruitment and I love how he coached the position when I went to their practice. Coach Dawson always makes me feel very important when I am on campus. There was a time when I went to their junior day and I’m only a sophomore and Coach Dawson spent the entire day with just me with his family and that spoke volumes to me. Coach (Mario) Cristobal is one of the more genuine coaches I’ve ever been around. My family loves him and it’s important to me that they have a standard of excellence and they compete for national titles. Miami is a national brand and it always means something to wear the U on the side of your helmet. Coach Dawson also contacts Baylin a lot and he lets me know how much they value me and my recruitment.”

UCF

“Of the 3 in-state schools, UCF and coach Hinshaw was the first to offer me. He was actually the first coach to offer me in 8th grade when he was a UAB. Then when he came to UCF, he offered me within days of him taking the job. I’m close with him and his family. His brother Tyson was my youth Pop Warner coach and is currently my coach at Lake Mary and Coach Tysons son Carson was my Wide Receiver this past year so I’m really connected with him so he is always in communication with my family and I and he also has a great relationship with my QB Trainer Baylin so it’s a great situation. Coach (Gus) Malzahn also loves the QB position and has coached some of the best to ever play that position and I love his offense.”
