No surprise here as the Colts part ways with two players

The Indianapolis Colts let another game slip through their fingers as they lost to the Jaguars last Sunday.

That marks the fourth time in as many games this year that the Colts have had a chance to win the game in the 4th quarter.

Now, at 1-3 the team is desperately searching for answers.

The defense, a weak point all season, found some form of answers today as the Colts parted ways with two “starters”.

Sio Moore, who was aquired last season from Oakland for a 4th round draft pick compiled 31 tackles in four starts. He was thrusted into the starting role before the season after the team parted ways with Nate Irving.

As for Cromartie, the Colts signed him back in August after Vontae Davis, Patrick Robinson and Darius Butler all suffered injures.

Thinking that Cromartie was a starting corner as this stage of his career was absurd. At best a nickel corner. That was evident Sunday when he gave up a touchdown and was called for two penalties. All while playing just 20 snaps.

You get what you pay for, and even at $3 million he was an overpaid veteran. Which has become Ryan Grigson’s mo lately.

The loss of Cromartie likely will not be much as Butler should be back this week.

As for Moore, the Colts elevated Trevor Bates to the roster.

Bates, the Colts 7th round pick this year has yet to appear in a game.

And at best is still another year from being anything but a special teams contributor.
