No Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams reunion: Former Packers wide receiver won't be traded this offseason, Raiders general manager says

An actual Aaron Rodgers wish list this offseason isn't known.

But if there was one for the former Green Bay Packers quarterback in New York as he comes back from a torn Achilles that kept him out all of last season except for the team's first four plays it wouldn't be a stretch if Davante Adams was at the top of the list if he was made available.

In fact, at the Super Bowl earlier this month, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Rodgers was trying to recruit Adams, whom he spent eight seasons with in Green Bay, to the Jets.

Adams is very close with Rodgers, who would no doubt want every offensive weapon at his disposal for his 20th NFL season in what will essentially be a do-over year in 2024. The former Packers wide receiver is not a free agent as he's in the middle of a five-year contract that he signed with the Raiders after being traded from the Packers following the 2021 season. But this time of year, the NFL rumor mill is in full swing.

Raidgers general manager Tom Telesco did his best on Tuesday to shut down any trade rumors.

"He's a Raider," Telesco said when asked about the 31-year-old's future at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.

Jordan Love (10) of the Green Bay Packers talks with Davante Adams (17) of the Las Vegas Raiders following the game at Allegiant Stadium on Oct. 9, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Adams was playing his first game against his former team after he was traded in 2022.

Luke Getsy reunites with Davante Adams in Las Vegas as the Raiders' offensive coordinator

While Adams won't reunite with Rodgers he will reunite with one of his former coaches.

Luke Getsy, who was fired after two challenging seasons as the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator, was recently hired to the same position in Las Vegas. Getsy, 40, worked as the Packers wide receivers coach from 2016-17. Adams had a breakout year in 2016 and in 2017 he had his first of six Pro Bowls.

From 2020-21 Getsy was then the Packers' passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Adams had a career-high 123 catches and 1,553 yards in the 2021 season, his final year with the Packers.

Davante Adams' stats with Las Vegas Raiders: Former Packers wide receiver continues to thrive

Adams will be entering his third season with the Raiders in 2024.

Despite quarterback instability the last two years, Adams remains one of the best receivers in the league.

While his overall numbers in 2023 were down from his 2022 All-Pro season, Adams still had 103 catches, the fourth straight year he reached the century mark. That total was tied for 10th most in the NFL.

Adams also again topped 1,000 receiving yards, the fourth straight year he has achieved this mark and fifth time in six seasons. Since 2018, he’s second in the NFL with over 8,000 yards receiving. His 22 receiving touchdowns are the most in the last two seasons.

He's also been very durable. Adams hasn't missed a game the last three years, dating back to his final season in Green Bay.

The Packers kept him in check (four catches for 45 yards) during their 17-13 loss to the Raiders last season, though he essentially had some free yards when linebacker Preston Smith was lined up against him late in the third quarter. His catch and run led to the Raiders' go-ahead touchdown.
