No. 2 Purdue men's basketball (USA TODAY) hosts Xavier after starting the 2023-24 season with two decisive wins.
The Boilermakers (2-0) have followed a similar script in their victories: Surge to a huge early lead and cruise the rest of the way. They scored the first 11 points against Samford and the first 15 against Morehead State. Zach Edey keeps doing Zach Edey things (17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocked shots).
The Musketeers (2-0) are getting used to life with many new contributors. Sophomore Claude Desmond, a Xavier reserve last season, leads them with 18.5 points per game. Quincy Olivari (transfer from Rice) adds 15 and Abou Ousmane (North Texas) 10 points and 7 rebounds. Former Indiana player Jerome Hunter is on the Xavier roster.
