No. 1 Mountain Ridge shuts out Clear Spring
Oct. 19—FROSTBURG — No. 1 Mountain Ridge recorded its fourth straight shutout in a 9-0 win over Clear Spring on Wednesday.
Allie Knieriem scored four times including three in the second half.
Four different Miners (12-1) scored unassisted in the first half.
Knieriem, Fiona Ruddell, Isabella Robison and Lyla Robison each found the back of the net.
Knieriem recorded a second half hat trick, scoring twice off assists by Sydney Snyder and once off an assist by Isabella Robison.
Snyder scored off a Meredith Munday assist and Munday set up Kate Imes a minute later to complete the scoring.
Mountain Ridge combined for 51 shots and 34 on goal. The Blazers took two shots with one on goal.
The Miners had a 12-0 advantage in corners.
Madison Eversole recorded 22 saves for Clear Spring and Alyssalyn Barr had three.
Taylor Lamberson recorded one save for Mountain Ridge.
The Miners hosted No. 4 Northern on Thursday.
