NL wild card standings, schedule, odds: DBacks, Cubs, Marlins close in MLB Playoffs race

Update: The Miami Marlins and Arizona Diamondbacks secured wild card berths on Saturday, filling out the National League MLB Playoffs field.

The seeding for those wild card berths will be determined depending on the outcomes of the final games of the regular season.

Original story: While a lot is still left to be decided in the American League and National League Major League Baseball Playoff races, one particular race for the MLB postseason has really caught our attention: The race for the NL wild card berths.

Entering games on Saturday, Sept. 30, four teams are within two games of each other for the fifth and sixth spots in the 2023 NL postseason (the final two berths): The Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Miami Marlins.

Which teams will earn those final MLB postseason berths?

Take a look at the current NL Wild Card standings, MLB Playoffs odds and upcoming schedule to get an idea of which teams could land those final spots in the 2023 MLB Playoffs.

The Atlanta Braves (NL East), Los Angeles Dodgers (NL West) and the Milwaukee Brewers (NL Central) have clinched the division titles.

The Philadelphia Phillies have a hold on the first wild card berth in the league, leaving the two final wild card spots still up for grabs in a close race involving those four aforementioned teams.

• Cincinnati Reds (82-78) - 1.5 games behind Marlins for final wild card berth

Fangraphs currently gives the teams in the wild card race the following odds to make the MLB postseason:

• Phillies: 100%

• Diamondbacks: 96.5%

• Marlins: 90.6%

• Reds: 9%
