Nike LeBron 17 debuts in new colorway inspired by 'White Men Can't Jump'

Weeks after we first revealed the official look, the Nike LeBron 17 “Command Force” colorway are making their long-awaited debut. Drawing inspiration from Woody Harrelson’s portrayal of Billy Hoyle in the 1992 film “White Men Can’t Jump,” this new iteration is unlike anything the King and The Swoosh have released in the past. The crisp, clean colors are reminiscent of a simpler time, reimagined for a new generation of basketball and sneaker enthusiasts worldwide.

Features in this colorway include textured white Battleknit uppers splashed with swirled multi-color accents, honoring Harrelson’s outlandish ensembles in the beloved classic. For this specific variation, the signature lion normally displayed on the tongue is replaced by an altered rendition of the original Command Force’s tongue badge, this time reading “LeBron” in a bold lime green hue.

Inside the trainers reads “The Official Shoe of LeBron James” while a translucent sole completes the silhouette. Keeping in line with their innovative technology, the midsole combines what Nike calls a “first-of-its-kind” Max Air unit in the heel and volt Zoom Air pods in the forefoot, ensuring comfort and responsiveness with each stride while absorbing more force than ever before.

Retailing for $200, shop the Nike LeBron 17 “Command Force” sneakers at Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Finish Line.
