Night Hawks shine on Senior Day

Oct. 16—THOMASVILLE- The Thomas University Men's Soccer team (8-3-2, 5-2-1) hosted Point University (2-9, 2-6) Saturday evening.

With it being Senior Day, the Night Hawks hoped to send the seniors off with another win at the TU Soccer Complex.

In the first half, the Night Hawks controlled the game by recording ten shots and four corner kicks, compared to the Seahawks' two shots and one corner kick. The Night Hawks also committed three fouls, while Point tallied eleven. With that, both teams would enter halftime scoreless.

In the second period, Thomas' shots would eventually find the net. In the 52nd minute, Diego Azar would put the Night Hawks on the board to lead 1-0. Soon after, Findlay Cook would find Will Nye, who would push Thomas' lead to 2-0. The Seahawks would answer with a goal of their own at the 87th minute. Thomas' Azar would then add another goal at the 88th minute assisted by Cook. Then, one minute later Cook would record another assist to help Ethan Moore score a goal. Ultimately, the Night Hawks would capture the win, 4-1.

In total, Thomas would take seventeen shots, eight on goal, and five corner kicks. The Seahawks would record ten shots, five on goal, and two corner kicks. Jorge Gonzalez would record four saves for Thomas on the day. The Seahawks Callum Thompson would also record four saves. Thomas University will now travel to Jacksonville, Florida to take on Jacksonville University for an exhibition matchup on Tuesday, October 17. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
