White Sox place Konerko on 7-day DL

The Chicago White Sox placed first baseman Paul Konerko on the seven-day list disabled list with a concussion, MLB.com reported Friday.

Konerko sustained the concussion in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals when he was struck by Jarrod Dyson's elbow as he was covering first base.

Konerko is batting .316 with 18 home runs and 54 RBI in 101 games this season. He also ranks sixth in the American League with a .388 on-base percentage.

Chicago will make a corresponding roster move on Saturday.
