Scary moments for the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night in their game against the Detroit Red Wings, as captain Steven Stamkos left with a lower-body injury. The Lightning announced he wouldn’t return to the game.

Stamkos was on the penalty kill for the Bolts in the first period when he fell awkwardly and appeared to twist his right knee.

Stamkos only played four shifts in the game, but was on the ice for two Lightning goals. That included his ninth goal of the season. He ended up skating just 2:07 in the game.

We’ll update with more on the Stamkos injury after the game.
