Delonte West will spend next season playing for the Yao Ming-owned Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
West, 31, has been out of the NBA since 2012. He played eight games with the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League in 2013 and spent last year in China with the Fujian Sturgeons. This July, he suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers at summer league in Las Vegas, but didn't have a particularly impressive showing in three games.
The combo guard has spoken extensively about the last few years of his career and his desire to return to the NBA, including a long Slate feature and a video sit-down with Vice Sports. He was once an efficient two-way player in the league, and it's hard not to root for him to get another chance. With each passing season, though, it seems less and less likely.
