March 18 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Tuesday's National Basketball Association games. - - - Heat 100, Cavaliers 96 LeBron James chalked up 43 points to inspire the Miami Heat's victory over his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. With his sidekick Dwyane Wade taking the night off, James scored 25 points in the first quarter. For the game, he converted 14-of-19 shots from the field, including six-of-eight from thee-point range. James, who played seven years with the Cavaliers, now has a 13-1 record against his old team since he left in 2010 for the Heat (46-19). The short-handed Cavaliers (26-42) had six players score in double figures, but were without top two scorers Kyrie Irving (strained biceps tendon) and Luol Deng (sprained ankle). - - - Hawks 118, Raptors 113 (overtime) Jeff Teague scored 34 points and forward Paul Millsap had his first career triple-double as the Atlanta Hawks edged past the Toronto Raptors in overtime. Millsap, playing his 600th NBA game, had 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as the Hawks (31-35) recorded their season-best fifth straight win after losing 14 of the previous 15 contests. DeMar DeRozan scored 29 and fellow guard Kyle Lowery added 20 for the Atlantic Division leader Raptors (37-29). Lowery scored on a drive with 8.1 seconds left to send the game into overtime at 106-106. - - - Warriors 103, Magic 89 Led by backcourt mates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors rode a barrage of third-quarter 3-pointers to a victory over the Orlando Magic. Playing without starting small forward Andre Iguodala (knee injury) and center Andrew Bogut (ankle inflammation), the Warriors went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc in the third period while extending a 10-point halftime lead to as many as 24. Curry had 10 of his 23 points in the quarter and Thompson 13 of his 20 as the Warriors (43-26) completed their first season-series sweep of Orlando in 22 years. - - - Trail Blazers 120, Bucks 115 (overtime) Wesley Matthews scored 26 points, including a three-pointer that put the Portland Trail Blazers ahead for good in an overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Matthews' three-point play gave Portland a 105-103 lead with 2:29 left in the extra session and the Trail Blazers (44-24) won for only the second time in seven games. Guard Brandon Knight scored 24 points and guard Ramon Sessions came off the bench for 23 points for the Bucks (13-55), who lost their fifth straight game and eight in their last nine outings. - - - Kings 117, Wizards 111 (overtime) DeMarcus Cousins and forward Rudy Gay combined to score all but four of Sacramento's 17 points in overtime, and the Kings stalled the Washington Wizards' climb up the Eastern Conference standings. Gay scored six of his 24 points in the extra session, and his 18-foot jumper from the wing broke a 111-111 tie with 37 second remaining. Bradley Beal and Marcin Gorat each scored 19 points to lead the Wizards (35-31), who fell two games behind the Chicago Bulls for the fourth seed spot in the Eastern Conference.
