Alex Galchenyuk will be out indefinitely after getting his ankles snapped in half by Anthony Mantha.

The Red Wings rookie victimized Galchenyuk in overtime on Tuesday, scoring one of the nicest goals you’ll see all year — yet only the second most impressive of the night.

Mantha danced around Galchenyuk with a filthy toe drag, sending the Canadiens forward sprawling to the ice, took the puck off his skate and evaded a Shea Weber poke check before firing a wrister past Al Montoya to end the game.

The goal gives Mantha 15 on the season and his fourth over the last eight games.

Although no official update was given after the game, the early indication is Galchenyuk’s ankles will be just fine — he merely suffered a bruised ego.
