Illinois-Chicago 94, Wagner 76

Kelsey Barlow scored 38 points as the UIC Flames knocked off Wagner 94-76 to take third place in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. on Wednesday.

Barlow's point total tied for the third-most in UIC history. Forward Jack Wiegand and guard Pat Birt each added 11. The Flames (3-4) shot 51 percent from the field and outrebounded the Seahawks 38-31.

Wagner coach Bashir Mason was ejected with 6:17 to play after picking up his second technical foul. Seahawks assistant Mike Babul coached the rest of the game. Orlando Parker was ejected for picking up a pair of technical fouls, and Latif Rivers was also called for one in the second half.

The main beneficiary of that largesse was Barlow, who tied a school record with 17 made free throws. The Flames went 34-for-40 from the line as a team.

Guard Marcus Burton led Wagner with 17 points. Guard Kenneth Ortz finished with 15 and Rivers had 14.

UIC jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the opening minutes and never let up. Barlow had tied his previous career high of 17 by halftime, and a three-pointer by Birt gave the Flames a 46-37 lead at the break.
