George Mason 85, Old Dominion 74

Freshman forward Jonathan Arledge scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds, helping George Mason beat Old Dominion 85-74 in a Colonial Athletic Association game Monday at the Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va.

Arledge was one of five players who scored in double figures for the Patriots (14-9, 7-4 CAA). George Mason has won two in a row and five of its past seven.

Freshman guard Patrick Holloway came off the bench to score 13 points. Sophomore guard Corey Edwards scored 11 points. Junior guard Bryon Allen had 10 points, eight assists and five rebounds, while sophomore forward Erik Copes finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Senior forward DeShawn Painter led Old Dominion (2-20, 0-10) with 14 points and six rebounds. Sophomore forward Richard Ross had 13 points and five blocked shots. Freshman guard Aaron Bacote had 12 points and six assists for the Monarchs, who have lost 10 in a row.

George Mason shot 50 percent from the field, made seven of 11 from 3-point range and converted on 24 of 27 free-throw attempts. Old Dominion wasn't nearly as sharp, shooting 42.1 percent overall while making four of 15 from beyond the arc and 22 of 28 at the foul line.
