Western Kentucky dumped out the playbook during Tuesday’s 51-31 win against Memphis in the Boca Raton Bowl and unveiled one of the best fakes of the season.

With 45 seconds remaining in the first half, the Hilltoppers lined up like they were going to kneel and run out the clock. Then, quarterback Mike White ran right and running back Anthony Wales ran left 53 yards with the ball before the Memphis defense was able to track him down.

Unfortunately, White threw an interception at the goal line on the next play, but it didn’t negate one of the best highlights of the contest.

Wales had a dominant game with 35 carries for 245 yards and three touchdowns. He also had four catches for 84 yards in his final game as a Hilltopper.

Western Kentucky controlled the game throughout and led by as many as 24 points midway through the third quarter. However, Memphis did make the game interesting in the fourth quarter by cutting the score to 44-31, but a costly penalty during a field goal allowed Wales to score his final touchdown and put the game out of reach.
