Cardinals' Wells to use finale as audition for other teams

Running back Beanie Wells believes he will be playing his final game Sunday for the Arizona Cardinals and is looking to showcase his skills to other NFL teams.

"That's my mindset," Wells said in a story published by The Arizona Republic. "I'm just going to go out there and put my best foot forward for all the 31 other teams that's watching."

Though he will remain under contract with the Cardinals next season, Wells does not expect to be back.

"It's inevitable," Wells said of the possibility of not being with Arizona next season.

Toe and knee injuries have limited Wells to seven games this season. The four-year veteran has rushed for 234 yards on 88 carries and five touchdowns.

Last week, Wells was benched after his fumble was returned for a touchdown in the Cardinals' 28-13 loss to Chicago. He ended up with only four carries for 3 yards and was angry about being kept on the sideline.

"This is a performance-based business and I don't know if I've done things up to our organization's standards here," he said. "Maybe it's a discussion that we'll have later on, but who knows?"

The Cardinals play San Francisco in their season finale.
