Bears WR Jeffery will have knee surgery

Chicago rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who injured his knee in the third quarter of the Bears' Monday night loss to the San Francisco 49ers, will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.

According to multiple media reports, the procedure will be performed Wednesday.

The Chicago Sun-Times quoted an anonymous source saying that Jeffery's injury is minor, and that the receiver would be sidelined two to four weeks.

Jeffery missed four games due to a broken right hand before he returned Monday to catch two passes for 15 yards. On the season, he has 16 receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns.

Jeffery, 22, was a second-round pick out of South Carolina this year.
