2018 4-star Georgia commit Max Wray already helping Dawgs recruit

The Latest: Class of 2018 offensive lineman Max Wray has been committed to Georgia for months, and while plenty of schools have made overtures, he’s firmly committed to the Dawgs. So what is he doing instead of entertaining recruiters? He’s focused on being a recruiter himself. Rivals.com caught up with Wary to get his thoughts on Georgia’s 2016 season as well as his efforts to help recruit others to Georgia’s 2018 class.

In His Words: “Things have been going well with Georgia. It was awesome to see how they finished things out with the 2017 class. We got a lot of good players on board and guys that I can play with in the future.”

Thoughts on Georgia’s 2016 season: “I definitely think the win against North Carolina might have raised the bar and put some unrealistic expectations on the team to start the year. I think as the year went along the offensive line got a lot better, which from my perspective is very good to see. I think the defense got better too and a lot of the young guys really stepped up and that’s a good sign for the future. It was a good start for Coach Smart.”

On the Development of offensive line: “In the first part of the season they had trouble but eventually they ended up picking it up. In the TCU game in the second half the run game was unstoppable and I credit that to Coach Smart and Coach Pittman and Coach Looney, just continuing to work to help the guys get better.”

On who he’s recruiting: “I’m talking to a lot of guys. Micah Parsons might come down for a visit soon. I talk to Justin Mascoll a lot and TK Chimedza, Teradja Mitchell, just a lot of guys from all over the country. We’ve connected on Twitter and kept in touch from there and I’m going to keep working on them. I’ll be back at Georgia whenever we have a big recruiting day and hopefully brining some Tennessee guys with me.”

Rivals Reaction: Not only is Wray helping the Dawgs recruit, he has no plans to visit other campuses in the spring. After a great finish to the 2017 class, having Wray preaching the cause to key 2018 targets could help Georgia finish with another Top Five class.
