Nets stars make wrong kind of history in loss to Mavericks
Despite the Nets’ star duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving scoring over 35 points, Brooklyn’s team has lost four of their first five regular-season games.
Statitudes’ Justin Kubatko reported that the star duo has the league record for the most losses (four) when both players score 35 points a piece in a single game.
Irving finished the game with 39 points, logging seven rebounds, four blocks, and four assists against the Dallas Mavericks. Irving is tenth in the league in points per game, averaging 29.6. He has been shooting an efficient 45.4 percent on the hardwood this year.
Durant’s shooting efficiency is an impressive 53.4 percent, helping make him the third-highest scorer per game with 33.2. Durant’s dominant play on both sides of the ball has not slowed at all this season and with Irving’s contributions the team should be in better waters than they currently are.
Last night marked the fourth time that Kyrie Irving (39) and Kevin Durant (37) each scored at least 35 points in the same game. The Nets have lost all four of those games.

Only two players on the team have averaged double-digit points other than the duo, one is big man Nic Claxton and the other is role player David Duke Jr.
