Nets’ Mikal Bridges rated best player on Team USA World Cup roster

Brooklyn Nets guard Mikal Bridges did a wonderful job representing the Nets, and America, in the 2023 FIBA World Cup as part of Team USA. He did so well that even though he wasn’t regarded as the best player, certain numbers seem to show that Bridges was the best player on the team.

In a post on HoopsHype‘s X account, they posted the ratings for every single player on the Team USA World Cup roster. In something that would be contrary to popular belief, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves had the second-highest rating on the squad, despite being considered the best player by many who have watched most of Team USA’s games.

While Edwards averaged more points, rebounds, and assists than Bridges, Bridges shot better from the field (63.3% for Bridges to 47.5% for Edwards) and from three-point range (55.6% for Bridges and 31.1% for Edwards). Not to mention that Bridges was more effective on defense, playing to his role of being more of a two-way player for Team USA and supporting Edwards.
