Nets’ Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson starting Friday against 76ers

The Brooklyn Nets announced that new additions Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson will be starting in Friday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. They will be part of a new-look Nets team that also includes newcomers Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith in the starting lineup as well.

As it stands now, the Nets will have four new starters surrounding incumbent center Nic Claxton for the foreseeable future. If Thursday’s 116-105 win over the Chicago Bulls is any indication, despite not having the services of Bridges and Johnson, Brooklyn will be a fun team to watch because of the amount that they have that can play good defense as well as no dominant ball-handler the likes of Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving.

Like Joe Harris after the win over the Bulls, the offense will be more of a committee approach instead of the iso-heavy style that the team had with Durant and Irving. That could make one wonder what the future of Ben Simmons will be given the direction of the franchise right now along with Simmons’ lack of shooting.
