NC State baseball a No. 3 seed in 2023 NCAA Tournament, will play in Columbia

NC State baseball is a No. 3 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The Wolfpack (35-19) will open against No. 2 Campbell (44-13) in the Columbia Regional on Friday (1 p.m., ACC Network). No. 1 South Carolina (39-19) and No. 4 Central Connecticut State (36-12) are on the opposite side of the bracket.

The Columbia Regional is paired with the Gainsville Regional, which includes Florida, Florida A&M, UConn and Texas Tech. The winners of the two regionals will matchup in the super regional round.

NC State, which is making its 33rd tournament appearance and first since advancing to the College World Series in 2021, was projected to be among the last teams to make the 2023 field.

Sophomore catcher Jacob Cozart and junior third baseman LuJames Groover III were All-ACC selections for the Wolfpack.

Regionals will take place Friday through Monday. Super regionals are set for June 9-11 or June 10-12. The College World Series at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, starts June 16.
