NBA Twitter reacts to the Thunder acquiring Cason Wallace

The Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to a trade with the Dallas Mavericks where they sent away the No. 12 pick and a trade exception in exchange for the No. 10 pick — which was used to draft Kentucky guard Cason Wallace — and Davis Bertans.

Bertans is owed $33 million over the next two seasons, with an early termination option for the 2024-25 season. In 45 games last season, he averaged 4.6 points on 43.1% shooting and 1.2 rebounds. He also shot 39% from 3 on 3.1 attempts.

Wallace played one season at Kentucky, where the 19-year-old averaged 11.7 points on 44.6% shooting, 4.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. He also shot 34.6% from 3 on four attempts.

The Thunder adds another lottery talent to their young core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Josh Giddey and Ousmane Dieng.

Let’s look at the best tweets reacting to the draft-night trade.
