NBA Twitter reacts to Nets losing chippy preseason contest to the 76ers
The Brooklyn Nets played their third of four preseason games on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers and lost 127-119. While the game was just a preseason exhibition, there was plenty of hard fouls and trash-talking going around from both teams throughout the course of the game.
One of the themes of Monday’s preseason game was Brooklyn’s inability to take care of the basketball. The Nets turned the ball over 27 times and that led to 38 points for the 76ers just from those miscues. However, the fact that Brooklyn was slowly able to get back into the game was a good sign from a group that’s still learning how to play together.
Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn mentioned in his pregame availability that he wanted to see other players on the roster get some extended run and that was why Mikal Bridges sat for this contest. As a result, players like Cam Thomas and Trendon Watford were able to show what they had against a good Philadelphia team.
Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted to Monday’s physical contest:

Nets are shooting 53% from three in this one
Also winning the rebounding battleIt's tough to do both and still be down double-digits

Best two-way sequence the Nets have shown all night.
Simmons and Dinwiddie pressuring the ball, Claxton finishing with a good contest. Working quick through actions on the other end, making the extra pass.

Take into account that it’s pre-season but this is the laziest I’ve seen the Brooklyn Nets play in multiple years.

Jacque Vaughn attributed Ben Simmons' 8 turnovers to the Nets learning to play with him and adjusting to his unique style/pace/angles.
Said some of the bigs weren't used to his pick-and-roll style.

Mixed bag from DayRon, has had some nice rebounds and blocks, but he still looks awkward on offense

"That's what it's all about. I'm gonna come out here and play hard, put some people on the floor and let 'em know I'm back."

Day’Ron Sharpe has to be stronger when sealing his man in the lane.

Again, in his first four years in Philly, Ben Simmons assisted on 996 3-pointers, second in the league over that stretch to Russell Westbrook
