NBA roundup: Timberwolves' Love misses game with eye injury

Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love did not play in Sunday's game against the New York Knicks because of an eye injury.

Love was poked in the eye during Thursday's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He did not travel with the team to New York.

The Timberwolves' next game is against the Houston Rockets at home on Wednesday, giving Love several days to recover.

Love is averaging 19.6 points and 13.9 rebounds in 14 games this season.

--The Utah Jazz announced Sunday that guard Mo Williams will be out indefinitely with a right thumb injury.

Williams, who sustained the injury on Saturday, is averaging 12.9 points and 6.7 assists this season in 24 games, all starts.

Jamaal Tinsley is expected to take his place in the lineup.

---The Washington Wizards announced they waived guard Shaun Livingston and center/forward Earl Barron.

Livingston averaged 3.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 17 games (four starts) and Barron averaged 2.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 11 games (one start).

---The Golden State Warriors announced they assigned guard/forward Kent Bazemore and forward/center Jeremy Tyler to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League.

Bazemore and Tyler are expected to play in the team's first-ever game in Santa Cruz Sunday night against the Bakersfield Jam at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
