NBA free agency rumors 2021: Live updates on deals, trades and more

One of the sports highlights of the summer is here.

NBA free agency begins Monday at 6 p.m., with negotiations allowed between teams and players and their representatives. Deals cannot be signed until Friday at 12:01 p.m.

Some of the biggest names on the market include DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, Mike Conley Jr., Lonzo Ball and Spencer Dinwiddie. A handful of recent Pistons are also available, notably Derrick Rose, Reggie Jackson, Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond.

Trade candidates include Philadelphia's Ben Simmons, Sacramento's Buddy Hield and perhaps Portland's Damian Lillard.

New York, San Antonio, Oklahoma City are the teams to watch; all three have room to sign a maximum contract player. The Detroit Pistons are expected to have around $12.2 million in space after trading Mason Plumlee and waiving Cory Joseph. They can get to $16.3 million by declining Rodney McGruder's $5 million deal.
