NBA betting: The pick against the spread for Thursday's playoff game

The second round of the NBA playoffs continues Thursday with Game 6 in Milwaukee. Yahoo Sports’ Jared Quay has the advice that you need.

All odds via BetMGM.

Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks (-5.5), Total: 220.5

The Bucks are favored to force a Game 7.

Milwaukee returns home Thursday night after Kevin Durant took over to give Brooklyn a 3-2 series lead on Tuesday night. The home team has won each of the first five games in the series and the Nets won’t have Kyrie Irving for Game 6. Throw in a hobbled James Harden and that’s why Milwaukee is a two-possession favorite.

The Nets still have Durant, however, and he showed why he’s one of the best scorers in NBA history in Game 5. He poured in a triple-double on amazingly efficient shooting as Brooklyn put up a huge second-half comeback.

The under has been a popular play in recent Brooklyn games. The under has hit in five of the last six Nets games and it’s hit in four of Milwaukee’s last five games. That’s why the total is at just 220.5 on Thursday night. Remember, this is a series that featured a game that finished 86-83.

Quay likes the Bucks to cover the 5.5 points and force Game 7.

While Milwaukee is favored in Game 6, the Nets are still favored heavily to win the series. Brooklyn is -250 to win the series while Milwaukee is +195 to win both Game 6 and Game 7. You can get +180 odds on Brooklyn to win on Thursday night (and win the series 4-2) while it’s +160 if you think the Nets will take the series in seven games.

Prop bet we like: Jeff Green under 13.5 points (-110)
