Nation’s No. 2 RB sets official visits, including to Georgia football

2023 five-star running back Richard Young has locked in five official visits that will keep him busy throughout June.

From Lehigh Acres, Florida, Young ranks as the nation’s No. 19 overall player and No. 2 running back in his class per 247Sports.

The 6-foot, 205-pound ball carrier, who rushed for 1,755 yards last season, has been tweeting his plans for visits.

Here’s a look at how his June will look:

First a look at Young's top schools

In April, Young released a top seven of Texas A&M, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Florida.

He canceled his visit Ohio State

Young canceled his trip to Ohio State but mentioned the Buckeyes remain one of his top schools. He originally planned to visit Ohio State the weekend of June 24.

First visit: Oklahoma (June 3-5)

Young will visit Oklahoma the first weekend of June.

Second visit: Alabama (June 10-12)

The following weekend, he’ll be in Tuscaloosa.

“Alabama is definitely RBU, and they produce the best backs,” he told On3.

Third visit: Notre Dame (June 13-15)

Right after Alabama, Young visits Notre Dame.

Fourth visit: Georgia (June 17-19)

And then it’s right back south to Athens.

“Georgia is a school where running backs are made,” he told On3.

Young traveled to Athens on an unofficial visit in late March. Prior to that, Kirby Smart visited Young at his Florida home shortly after winning the national title.

Fifth visit: Oregon (June 24-26)

Young closes the month with a visit to Oregon.
