Nate Bargatze picks, Nick Saban, and more College GameDay highlights ahead of LSU-Alabama

The ESPN College GameDay crew went to Tuscaloosa for the SEC rivalry matchup between No. 8 Alabama and No. 13 LSU for the "First Saturday in November" rivalry for Week 10. This will be the 31st time these two football programs will go head-to-head. Alabama is currently on a six-game winning streak while LSU is coming in with only one conference win, hoping to beat Alabama for the second year in a row for only the second time in rivalry history.

Alabama's only upset this season was to No. 7 Texas at home, where the Crimson Tide lost 34-24 in Week 2. LSU, on the other hand, started the season off with a 45-24 loss to No. 8 Florida State and got handed another defeat against No. 20 Ole Miss in a 55-49 loss in Week 5.

LSU has a strong offense with Heisman Trophy candidate Jayden Daniels at quarterback. For the 2023 season, the Tigers are ranked first in the nation in yards and points per game. Daniels has a 73.1% completion rate and has 2,573 yards with 25 touchdowns this season.

Nate Bargatze picks Alabama

Comedian Nate Bargatze was a guest picker on College GameDay. Bargatze is a stand-up comedian who has appeared on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and Netflix's 'The Standups.' Bargatze's wife went to Alabama, so it was unsurprising that he chose them to come out on top for the SEC rivalry.

Nick Saban joins the College GameDay crew

Alabama's head coach, Nick Saban, appeared on College GameDay to discuss his Crimson Tide's mindset going into Week 10 and facing a tough quarterback in Jayden Daniels from LSU.

When asked about how to approach a player like Daniels, Saban said: "This is a very challenging guy because if his athleticism, his abilities to run but he has great vision in the field, in terms of making choices and decision in the passing game. He can extend those plays and if you don't have great pass rush lanes, he's going to kill you stepping up and running down the field."

Saban emphasized his love for coaching and being part of rivalry games like LSU. He considers himself lucky to continue doing it.

Saban also had a few laughs with the Game Day crew when Pat McAfee decided to unbutton his shirt.
