Who is Nate Bargatze? Comedian is Alabama-LSU guest picker on ESPN's 'College GameDay'

Fresh off hosting "Saturday Night Live," comedian Nate Bargatze is heading to Tuscaloosa to serve as the celebrity guest picker for ESPN's "College GameDay," he announced Thursday afternoon.

Bargatze, a Nashville, Tennessee, native who hosted the long-running comedy show on Oct. 28, will predict the winner of multiple college football games on Saturday, including No. 8 Alabama vs. No. 14 LSU in Tuscaloosa, where "GameDay" will be located.

Typically, the celebrity guest picker is affiliated with the home team of each "GameDay" location. However, Bargatze isn't pledged to the Crimson Tide (7-1, 5-0 SEC) or the Tigers (6-2, 4-1).

"Something I've honestly always wanted to do," Bargatze said on his profile on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Very excited they asked, get to go represent Vanderbilt. Anchor down, baby."

Saturday will mark the second time "College GameDay" has traveled to Tuscaloosa this season, the first coming on Sept. 9 when the Crimson Tide (No. 8 AP/No. 8 US LBM Coaches) fell to Texas 34-24. It also will be Alabama's 56th all-time appearance on the show, and it holds a 35-20 record when "GameDay" is in town.
