Nashville Predators' winning streak ends at four; Michael McCarron thrown out of game

Nashville Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon hit Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland hard into the boards late during the first period Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena.

In turn, Vancouver's Dakota Joshua went after Lauzon.

In turn, Nashville's Michael McCarron dropped his gloves and started swinging at Joshua, who appeared to want nothing to do with McCarron.

McCarron had to be restrained by an official, who escorted him back to the Predators bench.

McCarron was rewarded with a two-minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct, leaving the Predators short a forward in a game they trailed 2-0 after one period.

That was about the extent of fight the Predators displayed during a 5-2 loss that ended their winning streak at four games.

Lauzon scored the Predators’ first goal with 5 minutes, 37 seconds left in the second, which cut his team’s deficit in half. Cody Glass scored his first goal of the season during the closing seconds of the third.

The Predators (18-14-0) have won four in a row and 13 of 16. The Canucks are 22-9-2.
