NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 weather forecast for Sunday's Nashville night race

Rain may be an issue at the NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 on Sunday at Nashville Superspeedway.

The weather forecast for the day has a small chance of rain throughout the day, but the greatest chance at 10 p.m. If rain holds off until 10 p.m., the race should be fine in completing.

The Ally 400 is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at the Lebanon racetrack. The race is sold out.

The Weather Channel currently calls for a 40% chance of strong storms at 10 p.m. Chance of rain is 10-20% during the race.

Ross Chastain of Nashville-based Trackhouse Racing is on the pole for the race. William Byron is currently the Cup Series points leader. He starts fifth on Sunday.

Rain has not been an issue the first two days of the Nashville Superspeedway tripleheader. However, hot temperatures caused for a slick track during the Tennessee Lottery 250 Xfinity race, which was won by A.J. Allmendinger.
