How much does the loss of veteran forward Danilo Gallinari impact the Boston Celtics?

How much does the loss of veteran forward Danilo Gallinari impact the Boston Celtics? The Celtics swingman hurt his knee by tearing his meniscus on a noncontact play late in a win of his Italian National Team over the Georgian National Team in FIBA qualifier play last weekend.

And while it might seem odd to say this is a comparatively good thing given he might have had a second torn left ACL that could easily have ended his NBA career, it will leave Boston without Gallinari for at least the entirety of training camp and the first few weeks of the 2022-23 NBA regular season.

Where does that leave the Celtics for the season to come? The hosts of the NBC Sports Boston “The Daily Thread” show talk it over on a recent episode.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear what Amina Smith, Chris Forsberg, and John Tomase all have to say about the impact of losing Gallo to the team.
