MSSU women's golf opens up spring season with fifth place finish

Feb. 28—The Missouri Southern State University women's golf team placed fifth this week in the Natural State Golf Classic at the Cypress Creek Golf Club in Cabot, Arkansas.

The women shot a 612 overall team score.

— Emmerson Doyle led the Lions with a 148 total score and finished in sixth place among 67 competitors.

— Caitlin Metcalfe tied for 16th overall individually with a 153 total score over two rounds.

— Lily Allman tied for 24th individually, shooting a 155 for the Lions.

— Iratxe Fernandez-Cano Aldasoro shot 156, which tied her for 29th overall.

— Maryn Harlow shot a 162, for 47th individually.

— Gabrielle Rettinghaus also competed in the Classic as an individual, shooting a 167 that earned her 57th place.

The team travels to Spring Hill, Kansas, to compete in the Konzem-Capra Invitational on March 18-19 at Sycamore Ridge Golf Club.
