Mount Union head baseball coach Paul Hesse will be inducted into the Greater Stark County Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame next month.

Hesse is in his 28th season as head coach at Mount Union and is the winningest coach in program history. Since taking over in 1997, he has posted a career record of 576-466-5 (.553), placing him first in wins and games coached at Mount Union. He is one of only six coaches in the history of the Ohio Athletic Conference to have won more than 500 games.

Hesse was named the OAC Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2017. He led the Purple Raiders to their first OAC regular season title in 47 years in 2017. Mount Union won its first OAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time in school history in 2013.

Hesse will be honored at the Greater Stark County Amateur Baseball Association Hall of Fame enshrinement banquet on Saturday, Jan, 20, 2024 at Saint Georgian Event Center.
