Monday Seacoast roundup: Weinstein nets OT game-winning goal for Portsmouth field hockey

PLYMOUTH - Shiloh Weinstein scored the game-winning goal 62 seconds into overtime as the Portsmouth High School field hockey team beat Plymouth, 2-1 on Monday in a Division II contest.

Portsmouth improved to 6-3 with the win.

Sydney Moreau scored a goal in the fourth quarter, while Audrey Walsh had two assists for Portsmouth.

Reese McCauley had four saves in net, while Emily Frank and Julia McGeorge played well defensively.

AUBURN, Maine - Maddie Fitzgerald, Ava Brent and Bella Santini each scored a goal for York (5-2-1) in a Class B South game.

DOVER - Kadence Law scored for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III loss. Goalie Kensley Harris had seven saves for St. Thomas Aquinas (1-7).

DOVER - Audrey Carter, Giana Leonardi and Gaby Anderson all scored a goal for Dover (9-0) in this Division I win.

Dover goalie Katie Everest had five saves.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Marina Friedman and Elle McDaniel each scored a goal for Marshwood (2-5) in this Class A South win.

SOMERSWORTH - Hannah Pincince and Lucy Laratonda had two goals and one assist for Somersworth (0-7) in this Division IV loss.

Shakeila Miller had two assists for the Hilltoppers, while teammates Madison Brogan, Audrey Labelle and Claire Perrault all played well.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Sarah Theriault scored for Marshwood (3-3) in this Class A South loss. Marshwood goalie Lana Emery had seven saves.

DOVER - Jaela Stockbower and Tatum Smith each had three goals to lead PCA (6-1) to this Division III win.

Stockbower and Tatiana Stockbower both three assists for the Eagles.

SOMERSWORTH - Somersworth goalie Lincoln Godzik had 17 saves in this Division IV loss. Defensively, Zephaniah Grandmaison played well.

GOLF

Dover wins three-team match

MANCHESTER - Jon Dumais shot an even-par 34 and Carys Fennessy shot a 35 to lead the Green Wave to this Division I win at Derryfield Country Club.

Dover won with a team score of 192, beating Central (212) and Memorial (234). Gavin Bernard (40), Logan Carter (41) and Ben Zbikowski (42) rounded out the Dover scoring. Dover is now 14-4.

Portsmouth places second in four-team match

PORTSMOUTH - Eli Poteet shot a 3-over-par 38 at Pease Golf Course, and Portsmouth had a team score of 200, placing second in a four-team match. Bow won with a score of 196), while St. Thomas Aquinas (207) and Kingswood (221) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Portsmouth's Grey Gagnon shot a 39, while Shea Harrison (40), Grant Haberstroh (41) and Briggs Williams (42) rounded out the scoring.

CROSS COUNTRY

Portsmouth Christian Academy is 11th overall at Manchester Invitational

MANCHESTER - Jonas Teeter ran a personal-best time on the Derryfield Park 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 24 seconds as PCA was 11th overall, and third amongst Division III schools.

Christian Barnes (17:36) and Ivan Sturgis (17:57) also competed for PCA.

VOLLEYBALL

Somersworth 3

Inter-Lakes 0

MEREDITH - Sya McKay had 10 kills and five blocks, Aby Lambert had 22 assists and Savanna Comeau had seven kills and 14 digs to lead Somersworth (9-0) to this Division III win.

Individual game scores were 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.

Additionally for Somersworth, Paige Demers had eight kills, Shauna Breimaier had 18 digs and Lilli Hamilton had 14 digs.

CONCORD - Quinn Arico had 16 assists and 10 kills to lead PCA (6-3) to this Division III win.

Individual game scores were 15-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-12.

Madelyn Hardy had eight kills for PCA, while Kailey Holt had seven kills, 13 assists and 11 aces.

LONDONDERRY - The Clippers improved to 4-3 with this Division I win.

Individual game scores were 25-23, 27-25, 25-27, 25-19.

Maddie MacCannell and Georgia Pinciaro led the team with 11 kills each, while Roe Beland had four aces and three blocks.  Teammates Eva Lalime (four aces, 36 assists) and Renee Martin (18 digs) contributed.

DOVER - Portsmouth goalie Brock Anderson's full length dive on a penalty shot in the last seven minutes of the game preserved this tie for Portsmouth.
