MLS Matchday 6: LA Galaxy visit Sporting Kansas City in matchup of unbeaten teams

With this weekend featuring a FIFA international window, many MLS teams will not be playing at full strength as key players will be away for duty with their respective national teams.

MLS super club Inter Miami CF will be without the services of Lionel Messi, who will miss Argentina's March friendlies with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, a once-upon-a-time MLS super club, the Los Angeles Galaxy, is experiencing a bit of a resurgence. The Galaxy are undefeated through the first four games and visit Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. New York City FC is coming off its first win of the season, and now must visit last season's Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati to see if last week's result was a sign of good things to come or an aberration.

SKC and the Galaxy enter Saturday's Western Conference showdown undefeated ... but both have just one win in four games played. The Galaxy are one of the early season's most pleasant surprises. The new-look attack featuring designated players Riqui Puig and Joseph Painstil has been electric. Forward Dejan Joveljic is tied for the league lead in goals scored with four (tied with Atlanta United's Giorgos Giakoumakis and Inter Miami's Luis Suárez). Kansas City has been stingy on defense, allowing just three goals through four games.

And, on a weekend when MLS teams are missing players on international duty, only one player on either of these two teams — SKC forward Alenis Vargas — will be unavailable.
