Ohtani has company on the list of the top-paid starting pitchers in baseball.

The Texas Rangers' Max Scherzer and the Houston Astros' Justin Verlander are tied for second among the highest-paid MLB starting pitchers with a salary of $43.3 million each in 2024. They are followed by Rangers pitcher Jacob DeGrom at $40 million.
