Missouri men's basketball players warm up on the Mizzou Arena court on Dec. 10, 2022, in Columbia, Mo.

The last time Kansas basketball played in Columbia was Feb. 4, 2012. That clock restarts after Saturday's game as the Border War plays at Missouri again.

Welcome back, hate week.

“Missouri-Illinois is a good rivalry. I thought there was a little bit of respect in that rivalry," Kansas coach Bill Self told reporters this week. "With Kansas-Missouri, from a fan standpoint, I don’t know if there’s as much respect as there is just flat-out dislike or hate.”

Stick here for live updates as Kansas returns to Mizzou Arena for the first time in a decade.

Border War: Mizzou-Kansas basketball live updates

Kansas 85, Mizzou 62 - Final media timeout

At least it won't be as bad as last year.

Kansas is still great and proved it. Missouri needs to go back to the drawing board. Saturday will be the first loss in the Dennis Gates era.

Kansas 73, Mizzou 58 - Under 8, second half

The Tigers have some life, but they're down 15. Something major needs to happen if Missouri wants to get back into this game.

Kansas is in the bonus the rest of the way.

Kansas 62, Mizzou 40 - Under 16, second half

The second half is just as bad as the first so far. Bad passes lead to steals; steals lead to points; all offensive opportunities end with bad shots.

Missouri will not win this game. But, they can fight back and earn some respect.

Halftime: Kansas 50 Mizzou 33

Missouri escaped the first half without much more damage, but the 17-point hole feels insurmountable. Sean East fouled Joseph Yesufu with no time left on the clock, and that led to some free throws.

The Tigers have much to discuss, like defensive close-outs, shot selection and assignments on both ends of the floor.

Kansas 40, Mizzou 26 - Timeout, Kansas

The Jayhawks took a timeout after a thunderous alley-oop dunk by Aidan Shaw. That was some momentum Missouri needed.

Now, the Tigers have to find a way to capitalize.

Kansas 38, Mizzou 19 - 6:33, first half

The Tigers are struggling to find any decent looks from the floor. Meanwhile, Kansas is getting whatever it wants. Still.

Missouri just needs to get to halftime. The Jayhawks are better in every facet.

Kansas 28, Mizzou 16 - Under 12

The Tigers' defense has rallied and Kansas has turned the ball over three times. A few of those were unforced turnovers, though.

Missouri's 3-point shooting has not fallen so far, but the Tigers keep shooting.

Kansas 26, Mizzou 12 - 13:51

Gradey Dick has 12 points for Kansas as Missouri is struggling to stop anything from the floor. Kansas has its its last 10 shots.

The defensive rotations, close outs and missed assignments are glaring for MU.

Pre game starters

Starters for the game have dropped.

Starting for Mizzou are DeAndre Gholston, D'Moi Hodge, Kobe Brown, Noah Carter and Nick Honor. The starters for Kansas are Gradey Dick, Dajuan Harris, Kevin McCullar, Jalen Wilson and KJ Adams.
