Missouri State women's basketball adds Mizzou transfer Sarah Linthacum

Missouri State Lady Bears head coach Beth Cunningham's first step toward rebuilding her frontcourt will begin with a transfer from within the state.

Sarah Linthacum, a 6-foot-3 forward from Mizzou, has signed with Missouri State, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.

Linthacum, a Jefferson City High alum, spent the last three seasons with the Tigers and will have one year of eligibility. She appeared in 23 games as a junior, averaging 4.5 rebounds.

Her most successful season came her sophomore year when she made six starts in 30 appearances. She averaged 1.6 points and two rebounds while shooting 55% from the field.

"Sarah is a skilled post player with size who can run the floor, rebound and finish around the rim," Cunningham said in a release. "She has high energy, great character and is going to be a great addition to our program, both on the court and in our community. We are excited to add her to our Lady Bear family."

Linthacum joins guards Zoe Stewart (Murray State) and Cady Pauley (Virginia) as transfers who recently signed with Missouri State.

Cunningham and staff have more work to do in an attempt to rebuild a frontcourt that saw its top three contributors enter the transfer portal at the end of the season. Kennedy Taylor, Jade Masogayo and Indya Green all previously announced their intentions to leave Missouri State.
