Missouri State forward Dalen Ridgnal to enter transfer portal, per report

Missouri State men's basketball's roster movement isn't entirely done yet.

According to a national report by On3's Jamie Shaw, forward Dalen Ridgnal has entered the transfer portal after one season at Missouri State.

Ridgnal is a 6-foot-7, 215-pounder who joined the Bears from Georgia prior to the 2022-23 season. He will be immediately eligible for his next school as a graduate transfer.

Ridgnal played in 31 games with 11 starts with the Bears. He led the team in scoring twice and rebounding six times. He found a starting role at the beginning of the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and then saw his playing time fluctuate from near the end of January through the end of the season. He averaged five points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

With Missouri State's offseason moves, it's not the biggest surprise Ridgnal would be one to look for more playing time elsewhere. The addition of Xavier transfer Cesare Edwards and the growth of rising sophomore N.J. Benson figured to keep Ridgnal in a role similar to the one he had a year ago.

His departure opens up a scholarship for Missouri State which was at the maximum of 13 before the move. Sixth-year head coach Dana Ford will have the opportunity to add to a roster that previously appeared to be complete.
