Mississippi State women's basketball lands Destiney McPhaul, nation's top junior college guard

Mississippi State women's basketball has landed a commitment from one of the nation's top junior college prospects. Destiney McPhaul is coming to MSU, she announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

She spent the past two seasons at Northwest Florida State College.

Last season, she led the Raiders with 14.4 points per game. Her play helped lead the team to a national title game appearance in which she scored 30 points with Purcell in attendance. She earned first-team All-American honors by the NJCAA and was named the No. 2 guard nationally by JUCO World Exposure.

As a freshman, she scored 12 points per game.

McPhaul is a product of Philadelphia, Pennsyvlania, who attended West Catholic Preparatory High School. She joins a roster at Mississippi State that'll include guard Jerkaila Jordan returning after an All-SEC campaign.
