Mississippi State football vs. Alabama: Kickoff time, TV channel announced

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football's matchup against Alabama on Sept. 30 will feature an 8 p.m. kickoff. The game at Davis Wade Stadium will be televised on ESPN.

The Bulldogs haven't beaten the Crimson Tide since coach Nick Saban's first season in 2007. Across the last five meetings, MSU has scored just 22 points and been outscored by 160 points. Since 2001, MSU's back-to-back wins in 2006 and 2007 are the lone victories for the Bulldogs in the series.

The rivalry, which features the SEC's two closest programs, dates back to 1896. However, this year will mark the end of an annual matchup dating back to 1944. With the SEC doing away with divisions amid the addition of Oklahoma and Texas, Mississippi State will not face Alabama next year.

Mississippi State (2-1, 0-1 SEC) plays at South Carolina (1-2, 0-1) on Saturday (6:30 p.m., SEC Network). Alabama (2-1, 0-0) hosts Ole Miss (3-0, 0-0) on Saturday (2:30 p.m., CBS).
