REPLAY: Mississippi State football holds off Western Michigan 41-28
STARKVILLE — It didn't come easy but Mississippi State football held on for a 41-28 victory over Western Michigan at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday.
Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers suffered an apparent arm injury late in the game.
MSU (3-3, 0-3 SEC) was coming off three straight losses in SEC play against LSU, South Carolina and Alabama. The Bulldogs had dropped their last two at home.
Western Michigan (2-4, 1-1 MAC) used its backup quarterback Jack Salopek to start but he was ineffective. Hayden Wolff, a transfer from Old Dominion, threw three touchdown passes to keep the game close.
