Mississippi State football painted end zones return. Here's the game-by-game schedule

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football is bringing painted end zones back to Davis Wade Stadium, at least for a majority of the 2023 season.

The Bulldogs announced Thursday that the end zones will feature white text on maroon paint for games against LSU, Alabama, Western Michigan, Southern Miss and Ole Miss. The end zones will remain green with white text for Saturday's season opener against Southeastern Louisiana and next week's game against Arizona.

As for the homecoming game against Kentucky on Nov. 4 − in which MSU will sport its 1998 throwback uniforms − no announcement has been made on field paint.

The announcement of the painted end zones comes a day after first-year athletics director Zac Selmon posted a picture of the field featuring the State script logo at midfield. The logo will be primarily featured on MSU's helmets this season, replacing the banner.

Selmon was hired in January to replace John Cohen who left for Auburn's AD opening. Selmon previously worked as deputy AD for external engagement and advancement at Oklahoma.
